Does Au Bespoke do gift vouchers?

Gift vouchers are available to the value of any pieces in the collection. Please email to discuss your requirements further.

How do I find my correct ring size?

The best thing to do is to go to a good local jeweller and have them size your finger properly.  If you are outside the UK then you can use our ring conversion chart to make sure you supply us with the correct UK size. Be aware that conversion charts may differ.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Each piece is made to order and will take six weeks to complete from when your order was confirmed. However, please let us know if you require your order urgently; we are happy to prioritise orders in special cases, so do please contact us.

Can I have my purchase sent to a different address than my billing address?

Yes.  Paypal allows you to specify a different shipping address to your billing address if necessary.

How can I specify an alternative gold colour to what is pictured?

Most of our collection include a drop-down box where you can choose between 18 carat yellow gold, rose gold or white gold.  If there is no option then unfortunately, it is not something we are able to offer for that particular product.  Please note that some gold and gem colour combinations work better than others; rest assured that we will get in touch with you to discuss colour combinations if we feel that your choice could be bettered.

How do I care for my jewellery?

Some stones may be affected by heat, strong chemicals, cleaning products and perfumes. Therefore, we recommend removing any items before applying perfume, showering, sunbathing, swimming and cleaning. We do not recommend wearing jewellery on the beach, as the sand can damage the surface of the stones and metal.

We also advise that you do not exercise or sleep in any items of jewellery.

Most items can be cleaned using a weak solution of warm water and washing up liquid. Soak the item for a few minutes and brush gently with a soft toothbrush to remove any grease and ingrained dirt. Then, wipe dry with a soft, clean cloth.

Softer and more porous materials such as pearls, opals and emeralds should be wiped clean with a damp cloth only.

If you are in any doubt at all as to how to clean your jewellery, please check with us or with a professional jeweller.

We recommend that all jewellery is stored and transported in its original pouch; if you are travelling, you can also use a purpose designed jewellery roll. Avoid stacking items on top of one another, as this can affect any surface finishes and damage delicate materials.

How do I know what my birthstone is?

JANUARY – Garnet is mined in a rainbow of colours and symbolizes friendship and trust whether it is the fiery orange of Mandarin Garnet or the rich green of Tsavorite Garnet or the most widely recognized colour of Pyrope Garnet.

FEBRUARY – Amethyst is a variety of Quartz that carries a spectacular purple colour ranging from a blend of deep violet and red to lighter lilac hues. Ancient Greeks believed that the stone protected the wearer from drunkenness and enabled them to keep a balanced mindset.

MARCH – Aquamarine’s rich colour, ranging from pale blue to the deepest shade, has long been a symbol of youth, health and hope.

APRIL – Diamonds are commonly associated with love making them a perfect gift. While white diamonds are most common, they can be found in various colours, including yellow, blue and pink.

MAY – Emeralds, with their rich green colour of Spring, radiate beautiful vivid tones and are considered to be symbols of rebirth and love. Emeralds are the rarest of gemstones and are typically mined in Colombia, Brazil, Afghanistan and Zambia.

JUNE – Those with birthdays in June can claim two birthstones: Pearl and Alexandrite. As a result of their natural beauty, pearls have been wildly popular for centuries. Alexandrite gemstones are extremely rare and desirable because their colour changes depending on the light in which they are seen.

JULY – Rubies are considered to be the king of gems and represent love, health and wisdom. It was believed that wearing a fine, red ruby bestowed good fortune on its owner. A ruby is the most valuable gemstone and its value increases based on its color and quality.

AUGUST – August also has two birthstones: Peridot and Spinel. Peridot, with its signature lime green colour, is believed to instill power and influence in the wearer. Spinel is found in a brilliant range of colours and is believed to protect the owner from harm, soothing away sadness.

SEPTEMBER – Sapphire, the birthstone of September, is most often used in its pure, rich blue colour, but can be found in almost every other colour, including pink, yellow and green. In the Middle Ages, the gem was believed to protect those close to the wearer from harm and also represented loyalty and trust.

OCTOBER – October also has two birthstones: Tourmaline and Opal. Tourmaline is incredibly popular because it comes in a rainbow of beautiful colours. Opal gemstones are truly unique because each one is adorned with a one-of-a-kind colour combination.

NOVEMBER – November birthdays are associated with two gems: Citrine and Topaz. The warm colour of Citrine is said to be a gift from the sun and it is believed to have healing powers. Topaz is most desired in its rich orange Imperial Topaz colour, but it is also found in a variety of rich colours including blue, pink and yellow.

DECEMBER – December birthdays have claim to three gemstones: Zircon, Tanzanite and Turquoise. Each of these gemstones carries a unique blue tone. Zircon can be found in a variety of colours, but most often, blue.
